Biography

Elizaveta Irgasheva, pianist, educator, composer, laureate of international competitions, is currently serving as Lecturer at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

Born in Kaliningrad, Russia, in 1995, Elizaveta is the Laureate of All-Russia and international competitions (Russia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and others). During her early musical education, she was a scholarship recipient from professional foundations supporting young musicians, such as the People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev Foundation "New Names" and the People's Artist of Russia Yuri Rozum Foundation.

She graduated from the Moscow Special Gnessin Music School in the piano class of Professor, Honored Cultural Worker of Russia, Tatyana Zelikman. She continued her professional training at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she completed her studies with honors under the guidance of professors, People's Artists of Russia, and outstanding pianists Natalia Trull and Mikhail Olenev.

Professor Natalia Trull, silver medalist of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, describes Elizaveta as "a serious, thoughtful musician, possessing vivid artistry, virtuosity, temperament, and stage presence." Professor Mikhail Olenev, laureate of the International Competition in Montevideo and Honored Artist of Russia, notes in Elizaveta "an intellectual approach to performing works and high talent as a soloist and chamber musician."

As a chamber musician, Elizaveta developed her artistry in the class of Professor Vladimir Skanavi (Honored Artist of Russia). She acquired her skills in accompaniment in the class of Professor Galina Brykina, Honored Artist of Russia and a student of Heinrich Neuhaus.

Throughout her musical career, Elizaveta has actively participated in masterclasses both in Russia and abroad, collaborating with prominent musicians such as Markus Groh (Germany, Berlin), Peter Donohoe (UK, Manchester), Pascal Nemirovski (UK, Birmingham), Konrad Elser (Germany, Lübeck), and others.

Elizaveta has extensive experience working with symphony orchestras and actively participates in chamber ensembles with high-caliber musicians and laureates of international competitions. Among these distinguished musicians is her husband, Denis Kuznetsov, a double bassist and principal of the double bass section in Suzhou.

Elizaveta Irgasheva is a laureate of international competitions not only as a pianist but also as a composer. Her family heritage has played an important role in her creative development. Her great-uncle, Nikolai Leonidovich Lugansky, a member of the Union of Composers of Russia and Honored Artist of Russia, studied under the great composer Dmitri Shostakovich.

Teaching holds a special place in Elizaveta's life. Already having teaching experience, she particularly distinguished herself as a successful educator between 2022 and 2024, when she taught piano in the Department of Music Pedagogy and chamber ensemble in the Department of Chamber Music at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. During this time, she actively participated in the conservatory's life, helping to unlock the creative potential of her students and significantly strengthening her pedagogical skills. For her, teaching has become an important mission, providing the opportunity to pass on knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians.

Elizaveta Irgasheva continues to teach and perform in China. She also currently gives lectures and teaches masterclasses both in Russia and across Europe and Asian countries.
