To provide a broader stage for young conductors and to cultivate outstanding musical talents, the Conducting Division of the School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen proudly presents the "Budding Conductors" project. The program consists of three main modules: "Young Conductors' Conference - Orchestra Conducting Workshop," "Young Conductors' Conference - Opera Conducting Workshop," and "Young Conductors' Conference - Choral Conducting Workshop." 

The 2nd event of the project, "Young Conductors' Conference - Opera Conducting Workshop" will be held from December 5th to the 8th. It is designed to launch young conductors onto the opera stage, inspiring them to unleash their exceptional conducting talents in this fully immersive production environment. Young conductors selected by audition and recommendation will receive guidance from renowned experts in conducting and voice, exploring from all angles of opera production: 1) diction coaching, 2) piano rehearsal, 3) staging, 4) orchestra rehearsals, and 5) performance. The event also includes a symposium featuring distinguished figures in the opera field to discuss how young conductors and singers make their early appearances on the professional stage and share their artistic career experiences.

The first event "Young Conductors' Conference - Orchestra Conducting Workshop" invited well-known conductor Mr. Chen Xieyang to be the guest speaker, and invited Mr. Liu Ming, conductor of Xinghai Conservatory of Music; Mr. Qian Jianmin, dean of the Conservatory of Communication University of China, Nanjing; Mr. Julian Shew of Nanjing University of the Arts; and Mr. Lin Daye, adjunct professor of the Conducting Division of the School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen to share their experience with the audience. The first event was successfully closed on 2 November at the School of Music of CUHK-Shenzhen and was well appreciated by many participants.
