  • Meet the Maestro: Prof. Renchang Fu

Meet the Maestro: Prof. Renchang Fu

May 16,2025 Upcoming Events

As most of the concert audience, we can hardly observe the conductors from their front. Even for the musicians on stage, the off-podium life of the conductors is often veiled under obscurity. Therefore, the Conducting Division of the School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen launches the series seminar "Meet the Maestro," which unfolds the conductor's real mind, decision, and philosophy to us from multiple perspectives, by featuring guest conductors of diverse fields to deliver masterclass, lectures, rehearsals, or other forms of sharing sessions.

Since the launch of the "Meet the Maestro" series, we have engaged in profound artistic dialogues with eleven distinguished conductors from the nation and abroad, exploring conducting techniques and musical interpretation across various repertoire from choral to symphonic works.

In the upcoming 12th session, the Conducting Division is honored to welcome Professor Fu Renchang, Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra. Professor Fu will lead a teaching masterclass on five symphonic works, sharing his extensive stage experience and distinctive artistic vision with our audience. This event offers not only technical guidance but also an exchange of ideas and inspiration. Through intensive teaching and interaction, the audience will gain deeper insights into the art of conducting and the profound beauty of classical music.
