“Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying MA Best Performance Scholarship” of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Officially Founded
The “Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying MA Best Performance Scholarship” of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) was made possible by a specialized donation of 1 million RMB by Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying from Hong Kong and will start from the year 2022. The scholarship will be given to outstanding MA students based on the school’s specialized annual plan. The award lists will be confirmed and publicly displayed by the school according to the students’ academic performance.
Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying is an advisor to the HKU Foundation, the Honorary President of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation. She has been serving as the President of the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole Fan Club, the Honorary Deputy Chairman of the Jao Studies Foundation. Speaking on donating for the foundation of the School of Music scholarship, Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying said, “Our motherland has been a strong country with modern civilization worldwide, and there has been a lot of artistic talents. I hope our motherland can continue ‘emphasis on training’ in the music field, so that the excellent art be better well connected worldwide, and there would be more music talents. Therefore, I did this donation, by way of scholarship, to give encouragement and award to the outstanding music students.”
Professor Xiaogang YE, founding dean of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), said, “On behalf of the School of Music, I give much thanks to Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying’s general donation, thank her for giving recognition and excitation to our most outstanding students of the school by way of scholarship.”
To show gratitude to Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying’s general donation, the School of Music specially made “Certificate of Recognition of the School of Music”, also appointed Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying as the founder and ambassador of “Mrs. Fidelia CHAN Yau Man-ying MA Best Performance Scholarship” of the School of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).
